The first filing I had ever made brought me a feeling of great relief and the matter was handled appropriately. I was truly relieved to have the Department of Social Services (DSS) to call on. Then came another, obvious case of child abuse, to my attention. This time, I had a new director. She didn't want to make the report (even though it is required by law). I told her, if she didn't make the call, I would. Unfortunately, she called the parents FIRST, who immediately removed their child from the school, and took him home. By the time DSS was called, the parents had created a story for the bruises on this child's body. The parents withdrew the child from the school. This was the reason the director did not want to call. His withdrawal was a "drop" in enrollment and put her bonus in jeopordy. I think of this boy, from time to time, and remember the terror in his face. I hope and pray that someone will be intuitive enough to see the evil and do what is right for this child.Amy Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02274285085695425261noreply@blogger.com
