Is This Bar Discipline Worthy?

One of the Casey Anthony's defense lawyers, Cheney Mason, responded to television and news photographer cameras trying to intrude on the lawyers' post-trial supper with the pictured gesture.  Another lawyer filed a Bar complaint claiming the gesture reflects poorly on Florida lawyers.  You be the judge, fair comment by Mason?

  2. Your Holiness,

He's not Italian, hence he's not going to talk with both hands at once.

  3. Do I understand correctly that the complaint was brought by the disgraced Jack Thompson? The disbarred for looney-toon behavior Jack Thompson?

  4. That is my understanding, sir.

  5. There was no complaint, not even by John Thompson. Just about every feature of this story is incorrect. Why are you so obtuse? If people want the real story go to the ABA online Journal blog. Here is the link. http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/casey_anthony_lawyer_cheney_mason_faces_bar_complaint_for_lewd_gesture/

  6. Anon,

The post was based on the initial Sun Sentinel report. The point of the post remains valid--does this gesture in the given context merit any sort of disciplinary attention. If you weren't such a d-bag, and bothered for one moment to read the posts on this subject, you would know where the Bad Lawyer stands on the subject. Regardless, check the picture.

  7. Most bloggers with any integrity correct posts when the posts are wrong. The ABA blog did it within hours. You're even confused about the question you want to ask. "Fair comment" vs "Discipline worthy" are not the same question, in case you didn't know. The answers are "how could anyone know without being there," and "no," respectively. You're lucky you're a drunk. Otherwise, you'd have no excuse for your stupidity.

  8. I think most sensate breathers more than got the point, Badd.

And unlike Anonymous I know its not your intention to write the blog of record on the legal issues of the day, buy you certainly shine the light on more day 2 day stories about lawyers, judges, courts, ethics, and law-making than almost any other law commentator. It's amazing, really.

  9. Next time you use the latest additions to your vocabulary in the same sentence Audrey, have someone look up the meaning of the words for you first. It is good that you're trying to learn a new word each day, but connections are important too.
