Gayle's Bard Blog--I Crave the Law

Don't miss the current post at Gayle's Bar Blog.  This is the her post/meditation on Shakespeare's seminal dramatization of the controversies that still animate modern legal debate, the letter versus the spirit of the law.  Or to put it another way, what role if any does mercy play in our insistence upon justice.  Gayle's blog is always excellent but it's a particular must read, because she is blogging on Shylock and the famous courtroom scene.

Shylock, Usury and the Letter of the Law

My friend Gayle has an excellent essay on one of the original Legal Dramas in the English language--Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare.  Gayle's Bard Blog is truly a place to warm your neurons over the next few weeks;  and, thereafter if we can encourage her.
