District Attorney Kratz Is an Ass!

Calumet County,Wisconsin District Attorney, Kenneth Kratz (pic) is an asshole.

If reports of Kratz' behavior are true, the DA sent numerous text messages in an effort to begin an affair with a domestic abuse victim while he was suppose to be prosecuting the perpetrator, her ex-boyfriend, according to a local police report.  The victim, Stepahanie Van Groll, 26, filed a complaint with the police after receiving 30 text messages from the Calumet County DA Kenneth Kratz over a three day period, according to media reports.

"Are you the kind of girl that likes secret contact with an older married elected DA ... the riskier the better?" Kratz, 50, wrote in a message to Stephanie Van Groll in October 2009 according to the Associated Press. Another said: "I would not expect you to be the other woman. I would want you to be so hot and treat me so well that you'd be THE woman! R U that good?"  He also sent the text:  "I'm serious! I'm the atty. I have the $350,000 house. I have the 6-figure career. You may be the tall, young, hot nymph, but I am the prize!" he texted.

Miss Van Groll went to the police three days after the messages started becoming "kind of vulgar." She provided copies of 30 messages and her responses, which the department released in response to an AP request.

The randy District Attorney was in the process of prosecuting Van Groll's ex-boyfriend on charges that the ex-boyfriend strangled Miss Van Groll. DA Kratz chaired of the Wisconsin Crime Victims' Rights Board, a quasi-judicial agency that can reprimand judges, prosecutors and police officers who mistreat crime victims.  According to media reports Kratz is not denying that he sent the texts but he indicated that he is concerned that the publication of the messages would unfairly embarrass him personally and professionally. He says the Office of Lawyer Regulation had found that he did not violate the rules governing attorney misconduct.! According to the AP, he shouted "This is a non-news story," but he added, "I'm worried about it because of my reputational interests. I'm worried about it because of my 25 years as a prosecutor."

Miss Van Groll told police in Kaukauna, Wisconsin, that she was pressured to have a relationship with Kratz, lest Kratz would not pursue the charges against her attacker.  After the charges were lodged, Kratz withdrew from that prosecution and the Wisconsin Department of Justice took over. Kratz resigned from the crime victims board, which he helped create, after more than a decade as chair. Kratz who was married has since divorced and he has remained the top prosecutor based in Chilton, where he has served since 1992 and earns a $105,000 salary.

Kratz, a Republican, intends to run for re-election in November 2012.

Yeah, this guy is the dream of all battered 26, year old women!

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?  If Kratz did this to one victim, how many other domestic violence victims did he come on to over the years?  Bet you...lots.  Others will turn up.  Why?  Because like all perpetrators this guy knows that these women's are vulnerable and Kratz trusts that they can be discredited if they complain.  Kratz and other perpetrators count on their sense that victims won't come forward to object to being revictimization.
What a peach.

  2. LOL! All district attorneys seek a happy ending...

Here in LA, a man is suing the West Covina police for false arrest after information surfaced the investigating officer had an affair with the man's ex-wife. The affair occurred while the officer was investigating a sexual assault complaint she made against the man.
