We have word from Israel that a Kfir Brigade soldier was sent to the brig for 20 days as punishment for violating the Shabbat prohibition on cooking during the day of rest. Apparently the soldier's prepared Sabbath meal attracted the preemptive attention of his cat so he made the mistake of making himself a light repast instead of sharing the remaining prepared meal with his pet. Unfortunately while our Israeli soldier was putting his untainted meal together Kitchen staff arrived, and a resultant report to his battalion commander concluded with his 20 day incarceration.
