Handicapped Parking

A Massachusetss, Lawyer, Garrison Corben, got himself a one year suspension for using a handicapped parking placard to which he was not entitled.  MassLawWeekly has the story.  Perhaps there is a slightly more expensive parking ticket somewhere, but as far as I know, this is it.

  1. I don't know about parking tickets, but in Finland speeding ticket fines are based on income.

In 2003 Jussi Salonoja from Helsinki, Finland, was fined 170,000 euros for driving 80 km/h in a 40 km/h zone. (This was based on Salonja's earnings of about 10 million euros.)

  2. Martin,

I have a pal, locally who is handicapped and apparently not having the correct placard just cost him $345, I don't have my conversion chart, but for my friend who only has one working eye--eye popping!
